a blueprint for replication

Our designs are replicable, scalable and adaptable, and we have ambitious plans for the future.

By 2020 we aim to have 8 factories similar to Ashaiman, which will be able to support more than a million people. To achieve this goal we need two things:

  • The right locations – in Africa, Asia or Latin America;
  • Sufficient resources – to support the training of local teams and to build the factories.

How we work

  • Our approach begins with a market study to establish necessary determinants (country analysis on macro-economic criteria, regulatory environment, supply chain and partnership opportunities);
  • We work with design experts to manage the construction, hardware and operational process elements;
  • We work with training experts on an intensive capacity building programme to ensure the local staff and our customers are well equipped and trained;
  • We build up operations, marketing, sales, and services with the team and oversee Quality Assurance;
  • We continue QA through remote helpdesk and process support which is aligned within robust M&E practices and yearly on-site trainings to improve and refresh skills;
  • We constantly seek new and innovative international partnerships that will enable us to replicate our model in other urban centres.

Our difference

We offer significant comparative advantages over other enterprises as we have real-time operational data. Since 2010, Safi Sana Holding BV has invested €4M to test technologies, treatment processes and market conditions for sale of end-products, and to develop monitoring systems and educational programs.

By offering an integrated waste-to-resource programme, we achieve two important results;

  • We are generating the financial resources to maintain the service for many years;
  • We create sustainable outcomes for the local communities.
